Lead in dinnerware [General]
2010 Dec 16
I haven't looked into that too much-but do know some materials are not as good.
Kind of like how they had that recall on plastics last year and that dollar stores and a few other stores- you always hear about kids jewelery being recalled for that too.
I don't think I would worry about it too much, or not a ton anyways.
For my dinnerware I bought Fiesta ceramic dishes and their website says that they are lead free and made in the US.
So most of my dinner dishes and platters are that (helps that they were very cheap too).
Or else for my cups and mugs most of them are glass- I just happen to like the look of glass coffee mugs and got some cheaply a few years ago.
I try to buy dishes that are made in the US or Canada if I can.
I do not know if it is limited to certain colours or what,I try and get info from the company I am buying from.

How big of a problem is it? Is it limited to certain colours?
