Another Mystery Veggie [General]

I need to call upon the forum's help, once again, please, to help identify the mystery veggie shown in the attached photo... a root vegetable, about 6" long, looks like a cross between a carrot and a rutabaga.

Also, do I prepare it like any other root?

If it is a beet you can eat them raw in a salad or like coleslaw!

Having the ruler in the picture really helps me get a sense of the scale. Hopefully I'll remember to do the same thing if I find any mystery vegetables of my own.

Lol, good idea.
For some pics I took I used a quarter beside my item,but it was a round fruit.

I will try and remember this for my future pics.

I usually try to use a cat for scale.
