Hi everyone-

Looked throughout Chinatown today for perilla leaves(shiso) and can't seem to find any. Anyone know if they're available anywhere?

not downtown, but Win Tai Market often has shiso -- cooler close to far east corner where you also find prepared kimchi and bell flower in take-away containers ... how's that for specific? :-)

think i've seen it at New 168 Market before, as well.

If its an essential in your cooking, you might consider growing it -- apparently its pretty easy to do, although there might be subtle taste distinctions between what you grow vs. commercially sourced.

Thank you so much itchy feet - much appreciated! I use perilla leaves to wrap pork belly when I do Korean bbq and I make a nice cocktail with it as well. Will have to check out these 2 markets.
