Where to buy butchers string [General]

2010 Nov 7
It's that time of year where I find myself doing more & more roasts, and I'm running out of butchers twine to tie them up.

I bought the last lot years ago, and I think it was at Loblaws - you know, back when Loblaws sold useful stuff.

Since then I haven't seen it anywhere. I frequent several different butchers and thought at least one of them might have it (well, obviously they have it for their own use, but I haven't seen it on sale).

So any good suggestions?

Thanks.
Ratty.

Nicastro's on Merivale has really good quality cotton butcher's string. Called Hy Pax, comes in 1-lb roll from China, $11.99. I use it all the time.

Hubby bought me a roll of butcher's twine ( I don't know the price)at our local Home Hardware (in Woodlawn, Ont.) but I also bought 4 silicone, stretchable wraps that are great ($3.99 at Independent Grocers) also work well...
