Can you recommend a place for french cuisine? [Food/Vendor]

I will be hosting a colleague from South Africa for dinner in a couple of weeks, and he has specifically requested "french cuisine", I suppose because of the Canadian french connection. I don't want anything as pricey as Le Baccara, but would like to find somewhere nice. I tend to be more of a bistro/gastropub kind of diner, so I really haven't kept in touch with the more traditional french restaurants. Any suggestions? I don't mind whether it's Ottawa or Hull, but would prefer not too far from the city centre.

Le Saint O on St Laurent has always been very delicious and french.

Petit Bill's Bistro on Wellington.

For more traditional french cuisine, I suggest l'Orée du bois in Chelsea. Good food, not too pricey, and the setting is always a hit with tourists, as it is a nice old house sitting right on the edge of Gatineau Park.

Metropolitain Brasserie on Sussex? I've been there a few times now and have always liked the food.
