ottawa foodies

I am going to be in the market area for the week end. when I have been there before I haven't noticed outside coffee spots. any suggestions on what would be a treat for coffee?

planet coffee & the french baker get my vote.

Seconded, only to add that Planet Coffee has the most divine lemon squares and other pastries (as well as great panini sandwiches Monday-Saturday).

I Deal Coffee on Dalhousie and Bruyere has excellent coffee and a pretty nice outdoor patio-locale.

I third Planet Coffee. I find that they make the best espresso, cap's etc in the Market. I Deal Coffee does roast it's own beans but I find their espresso's lacking. The place also has a run down and dirty feel to it.

Bennys at the French Baker is the best place to sit down and have coffee and pastry. Good pastry and acceptable coffee - they use Illy.

I fourth Planet Coffee. They should still have tables set up on the patio. Everything there tastes good.
