ottawa foodies

Hi,

I am tring to find a place in the city where I can get my hands on some essential cocktails mixing ingredients such as monin pure cane sugar syrop, or grenadine syrop, different types of angustora etc. So far my luck at big chain grocery store has been very limited. If anyone knows where I could get any of this stuff in Ottawa please let me know.

I'd be inclined to try La Tiendita on Merivale. It carries a lot of latin foods so they should probably have grenadine and pure cane syrup. You might have to hit a few places or try talking up some bartenders at some of the more interesting lounges to find out some better sources.

Grenadine and the classical angustora bitters are easy to find in a grocery store. Pure cane syrup I am uncertain about, though preparing your own simple syrup is easy enough.

I am, however, jonesing for some bar lime. Hmmmm....

I think you can find pure cane syrup in many Asian grocery stores.

Monin syrups are available at Equator Coffee in Almonte. Not sure specifically which ones they have.
