Friday's Roast Beef House was one of those institutions from another time... albeit a great spot to go to and still receive amazing service (food was good, but not spectacular). These places are falling by the wayside (the long departed Mill, also comes to mind) leaving probably only one or two such locations now in the city... Wilfrid's in the Chateau Laurier being one. They may be somewhat out of step with what is new and trendy, but they do serve a purpose... sad to see them go. Hopefully the historic property - Grant House - will remain and not get torn down in the name of "progress". (I have a personal distrust of Developers who's forte are huge shopping malls).

It was on CBC news Sunday as well. Can't say I was a fan. Had dinner there once last winter with two other couples and well it was not very good.
