Restaurant supply stores [General]

We are looking to buy some new dinnerware and I have been surprised how hard it is to find inexpensive "normal" settings. We have found some reasonably inexpensive dinnerware but were turned off because much of it seems to not be dishwasher or microwave safe. We want something for daily use — art deco designs and triangle plates are nice for a special occasion but nightly use at the dinner table is a different story.

Can anyone recommend a good local supplier who sells sturdy tableware to the public?

I've seen some really nice stuff at the Superstore - nice to my tastes at least.

I got my normal table settings—Dudson stoneware—at MCL Hospitality. You used to be able to break open a case and pick up a couple of singles, but the management's changed and now I think you have to buy by the dozen.

Does it fit the definition of "inexpensive?" Well, maybe not. Depending on the piece, you may be paying $10 per item. But they're nigh-indestructible once you have them.
