ottawa foodies

I visiting a friend this evening at Montfort Hospital.

He's been 'enjoying' the hospital cuisine for a few days now.

He's got a hankern' for a shawarma.

I want to smuggle a warm one in for him.

Does anyone have any reccomendations for a Shawarma Shop on (or near) Montreal Rd between Vanier Parkway and Blair Rd. ?

Does Loui's do Shawarma or just pizza.

Loui's Pizza Power does do shawarma, I can't comment on it though since I've only ever had their pizza. I get the impression that their Lebanese food is very home-made style, like the place in Hintonburg (Helen's, I think?).

Looks like we're going with Shawarma Plus ... only 1.5 blocks away from the hospital.

A better choice would be Really Lebanese (Garlic King), which recently moved from Orleans to MTL road. It is about 0.5kms east of Blair on the south side.

I used to go here late at night for cheap beer and shawarma. Although I would not go out of my way to get there now, its nice in the summer with the patio and all the "lurkers" walking by. No shortage of action around. haha
