Morning everyone. Almost forgot to post this here - I received an email earlier this week informing my office that today, November 28th, from 2pm-4pm Starbucks will be giving away free beverages with a donation to United Way. The offer is open at all 29 locations in the city which I've posted below.

** We are pleased to announce that on Friday November 28th, twenty-nine Starbucks coffee retail locations across Ottawa will be hosting their annual “Cheer Parties” to celebrate the holiday season with the community and to support United Way Centraide Ottawa’s 2008 community campaign in the final stretch.

During these two-hour in-store events, Starbucks will be offering a complimentary beverage and inviting customers to make a donation to United Way/Centraide Ottawa.

As friends of ours we invite you and your staff to stroll down to your local Starbucks for your afternoon coffee or beverage on Friday November 28th, 2008 between the hours of 2:00 and 4:00 PM and catch some early Cheer with us and our friends at Starbucks! **

Monty - Thanks for posting this... I may just check it out.
Part of me can't believe that Starbucks is actually going to give away FREE coffee... I know that they are known in the US as being very philanthropic but with the amount that they charge for a bevy, I find it hard to believe they'd be giving them away for FREE. LOL

Good on them for doing this for the sake of the United Way.
