I eat here on a regular basis, as I work nearby. Bella Vista's pizza has a thick crust with generous toppings. Reminds me of the classic pizza I grew up on and still remains my favorite.
The waitresses are older, yet the service is always great - make sure to ask for the new knives if you eat in!

It's one of the closest restaurants to where I live, and I will always have fond memories of the pizza we ate in total exhaustion on the evening of the day we moved to this end of town.
Don't go for the decor. Or do, if you are nostaligic about 70s strip-mall restaurant ambience and service!
Just FYI if you have any friends who suffer from Celiac disease, Bella Vista offers a gluten-free pizza. You don't even need to special-order it, from what I have heard -- it's on the menu.

This is the sort of place that seems like it was nice in the 70's, and they've just never updated the decor or the menu since. The service is quick and friendly and the prices are reasonable. I hear the pizza is good, but I can't eat that. The rest of the food there is not so great. The salad is just a bowl of lettuce, and if you don't want a creamy dressing the vinegrette you get is just a bottle each of oil and vinegar. Cheap breakfasts, but the sausages are the low quality, very fatty type.

I have been eating pizza at Bella Vista for about 25 years, maybe more.
Its my favourite pizza in Ottawa. I have had pizza at Colonade, Newport, and Lorenzo's all of which are good but there is something unmistakable and addictive about the cheese Bella Vista uses. The taste of that just keeps me coming back.
If you eat in, and your not driving, order a large draft! They are huge!

fantastic idea...you are in my neighbourhood and can't wait to taste your gluten free pizza.Thank you on behalf of all celiac sufferers....i will let other people know about your place.
