Ottawa Foodies

After not having been to this restuarant in about 5 years, hubby and I went as a third option last Saturday night when we had no reservation. We were glad we had been forced to try it again and excellent that they fit us in before their 8pm reservations that would fill the place. We had a wedding to go to and were planning on leaving then anyway. Points for letting us decide instead of just turning us away as others had done.

The service was excellent and very professional. The new decor is very nice and modern and the food was delicious. The only drawback was the TV that was on in the dining room right in hubby's face showing the football game. We are NOT fans of TV's in restaurants. I expect it from a pub or sports bar, but not in the middle of a dark dining room where that is all you can see is the flash of the TV.

I would highly recommend this upscale Italian restaurant (especially my Pollo Amaretto) but only if they turn the TV off.

It's been months since I've been here, but I would still like to recommend, and get other's comments. I've been here maybe a score of times, with most of those experiencing excellent food, and excellent service. This was the first place, in a long time where the server always attended to the ladies at the table first (not that this happpened every time, but was noticable when it did). It has a nice terrace in the summer. They once tried to foist paper napkins off on me but I asserted that I wanted a cloth napkin, just like inside and they were eager to please. I noticed the next time I went the entire terrace was decked out with cloth napkins! (lesson.. don't settle for less!) I have had one disappointing experience of poor service, and so-so food, but the good has far outweighed the bad.
