My only complaint about Baton Rouge is that there is no nutritional info for their menu. Given that they're a chain, I would expect them to provide it. Especially given that ribs and sauces can vary greatly from one chain to another.
We wanted to dine here last night as a treat, but the missing nutritional info forced us to choose another place.
The ribs at BR are literally fall-on-the-bone-yummy! Coupled with their salt and pepper fries and you have a winning combo! Unfortunately, even though I love the taste of the fries, they often don't agree with me afterward -- too much peanut oil???
Other tasty items are the veggie sandwich and the salmon salad (which is no longer on the menu but they still make for me when I ask).
Overall, I like the food. The service is very much tag-team ... over-service rather than under-service at BR. At least I will be guaranteed to get a drink, for the most part. Sometimes they are so busy that orders or special requests do get lost.
My only criticisms are that the salads are over-dressed and the glasses for non-alcoholic drinks (water, soda, ice-tea) are too small!
Had lunch here...business lunch, ribs lunch portion...very nice ribs...2 glasses of wine, $40 all in... not as bad as I would have expected. I have had worse ribs....but pricy. Chances R would be an example of worse ribs....
You do realize this restaurant is a chain, right? You do realize that it is on par with the likes of Milestones, right?
One cannot expect an interesting menu from a chain restaurant, should they? Their purpose in life is to appeal to the average eater, the masses, those that want quantity and so-called value over quality.
I have been to the one in Kanata a few times and personally my food was okay, but overpriced for the quality (well, except my ribs were pretty good). I have been to many, many independent restaurants in this fair (and lately cold) city and can get much more value from those fighting to get my business with quality, selection and service as opposed to those standing behind a recognizable name that expect business because of it.
That is funny that you say this because I had the same experience. It seemed like an interesting place from the outside but like you said, it was mostly "heavy and boring". It would be a good place to take someone who likes quantity over quality. But the people around me seemed to be having a good time...
I was in Baton Rouge for a dinner. It was very disappointing. This is one of the darkest restaurant of the city. The service was very intrusive and I can say that the workers are not skilled. Be careful here because somebody can try to take away your dish when you're still having a bite to eat! When I asked for some bread a waiter came with a sweet roll, probably left over from their daily breakfast. My main was 30% potato, 20% underdone steak and 50% BUTTER! It's not so good for a steak house! My Ceasar salad was not fresh, with even stale bread on top! Personally I think that their menu is very heavy and boring. It's a place for a stomach of iron.

I'm planning to send them an email to request it.
