Ottawa Foodies

I tried Greek on Wheels and thought it was pretty mediocre. I love calamari and usually try it when I see it on the menu. GoWs' calamari looked so promising- dusted in seasoned flour and made to order. Perfectly golden brown and served with a nice tzatziki sauce. The darn stuff was over cooked. Elastic Band city.

I had a chicken pita sandwich which was ho-hum. The chicken was dry- obviously pre-cooked. Pita bread was nice and fresh, as were the garnishes.

Might try it again but the calamari has definately scarred me.

I had Greek on Wheels for the first time last night and I was impressed. I had the chicken souvlaki platter but ordered a large container of tzatziki (that little cup is never enough) and some pita on the side. The tzatziki was a little different than most in that it had oregano in it but I liked it. The portions were large and the prices reasonable.

Looks like they opened up shop on Merivale - so I had to try them out! It's been a few years, but nothing has changed. I had the souvlaki & calamari platter. Everything tasted good, the portions were much larger than I remember. The salad was nice and fresh, the rice was plentiful and the potato was yummy. Good tzatziki as well. Overall, very good for takeout/delivery - must be why they've won Ottawa's best takeout for the past 9 years! Oh, it might be important for some to note that they now do catering for corporate/private events. The prices seemed pretty reasonable.
