We stopped by this evening to pick up dinner. I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was as advertised; the pork was nicely spiced and the sandwich featured a good mix of floss and cubes. The coleslaw held up its end of the bargain by cutting through the richness of the pork, and by offering up a nice crunch in contrast with the pork.

I would have been ok with a less substantial bun. In my view, the bun is there to serve as a pork delivery mechanism, and anything thicker than say, a bog standard hot dog bun is just getting in the way. That said, it was an excellent sandwich and well worth $7.

My wife had the fries and they were well done also. They were freshly made and crispy without being overdone.

Wow TPB topic is busy...i had to check it out myself!

Stopped by for lunch today and had the Cuban Sandwich. Big rib fan here but i had awesome cuban sandwiches in Varadero and Havana so i had to try theirs..It was great...really everything worked well...it was well garnished with slices of pork and pulled pork in a fresh bun....and the price, whomever complained that it was too high is wrong. Ill pay you lunch if you can find me in this city a place that will sell you a pullpork sandchich with real bread...no hotdog bun with fries, slaw and pop for 11$ come on! this is so cheap. You havent been to Tacolot my friend ;)

Regarding the flies...personnaly i don`t care, coming back from India and having the best food ive ever had from street stalls with thousands of bugs buzzing around...nothing bothers me when a couple of flies are around.

The menu is simple and interesting. They just opened this week...give them a break. Things like the Cuban Sandwich and Pork Shnitzel is very interesting and hard to find in this city...keep it up Trailer Pork Boys!

Tonythe Tiger, yes, I am a real person and am not affiliated in any way, shape or form with TPB. If you click on my avatar, you will see other reviews that I have done. I am a person of some " advanced " years and have therefore had many French fries in my day. I can smell a previously frozen French fry a mile away. I hate them. Perhaps someone can ask them if they are fresh as opposed to frozen next time they go and let us all know. If they are frozen, they have me royally fooled. As for the flies, I did not notice them, but then once we got our orders we ate them at home as we live near by. However, I wouldn't be too shocked at seeing flies in the great outdoors. Something tells me it is their natural habitat.

You will find here a great foodie community and I love reading about other people's experiences so I hope you post again.

TtT : As for the fries, like I said; "Gave them away. Was told they were homemade ,crispy, hot and fresh."

The person I gave the fries to did not see them being made. So they were either cut fresh by TPB and put in a bag like you saw or she just 'thought' they were fresh/home made ... and were not.

I am not in attack mode ... just curious mode. You see ... I've seen a lot here in Ottawa Foodies since I 'joined 2007 Oct 24'.

I see you 'joined 3:20pm' today. Have you been watching for sometime before joining today ?

Welcome aboard. I trust you will get much out of Ottawa Foodies.

On tuesday, I went by the trailer pork boys and had the rib combo. Wasnt too impressed with the amount of ribs I got for the price and @captaincaper you said the fries were fresh, did you see them being cut? cause i saw them being pulled out of a bag so much for fresh cut fries. By the way, this is just my real opinion from a real person, whats in it for the other users to be attacking user 4897 for what his or her opinions were. Really, to all the people out there, you shouldnt believe what you read, perhaps these great comments are coming from friends of trailer pork boys and maybe some of the bad comments are coming from their enemies. The only way you will know how great or how poor it is , is by trying it yourself. I was not too impressed. @ feline fan, are you sure you are a feline and not affiliated ? I also did notice the flies.

I guess new user 4897 did not bother to read the reviews or he would have read what they offer, as I reported in my first post. We were back today and hubby tried the sausage sandwich, I had the ribs (not the combo) and we got a large French fry which was way too many fries. Hubby said his sandwich was delicious, an Italian style pork patty with various toppings, and my ribs consisted of a 1/2 rack of 4 ribs. They were meaty, at least an inch of meat and as Captain Caper reported, the sauce had a nice zip to it. And oh, I did not see any flies. I think the prices are very fair for what they offer.

I decided to give the trailor pork boys a try yesterday. The menu was very poor, so I had not much of a choice but to try the pulled pork sanwich. Which was expensive and wasnt all that great. If your not prepared to pay restaurant prices for whats on their small menu then dont bother making the trip. The only sensible priced item was the amount of flies flying around the food prep area, they were free! Which made it more difficult for me to enjoy the pulled pork.

Delicious. Fries could have been better but everything else (pork, sauce, temperature, serving size, bbq sauce) was excellent.

That menu sign is the worst though. So hard to read with the glare and darkness. Put it on the side of the truck, or on a sandwich board where more than 1 person can read it at a time (while squinting and crowding the person ordering).

The pulled pork Cuban sandwich here is tasty and satisfying. The ingredients work well together -- sweet meaty pulled pork, salty ham, sour pickles, creamy garlic sauce and cheese. The only thing really missing was spice. I can see avoiding heat in the pulled pork to appeal to the masses, but a bottle of Chalupa or something would be nice to have on the condiment counter.

Anyway, this is good stuff. $7.50 for the sandwich, $5 extra to make a combo with fries, coleslaw, and a soft drink. Normal prices for small fries and soft drink are $3.50 and $1.50 so you get the coleslaw for free.

The fries are of nice quality and my wife's schnitzel sandwich was also really good. Next time, I will get the Pulled Pork Poutine I saw others eating. However, I will ask for poutine gravy instead of BBQ sauce. I don't need more sweetness than what's already in the pork! The Large is absolutely massive.
