Wow what a place, I haven't had fried chicken that tender and moist, and delicious in.... well a very very long time. KFC's Dry expensive chicken doesn't even compare not even on the same scope. They even provided a Prayer mat when Magrib came.
We had the Family meal with 12 pieces of the most tender juicy, and tasty chicken with 2 large seasoned fries, Hot rolls, hot sauce and garlic sauce, with a 2 liter of your favorite poison.( I don't drink Pop personally) Our kid who loves Kafta Kabobs had one of their Shammy Kabobs and it was delicious and fresh tasting as well. Highly recommend this place Clean and tasty. A real Halal treat. well worth waiting for your made to order meal.
And to those complaining about how small the chicken pieces are may I suggest the Hormone fed monsters they call Chicken served at KFC, Morons..

If their chicken pieces get any smaller, you won't have to worry about the chicken wing question. Local Heroes sell wings that are bigger than the supposed chicken pieces at Zaki's.

Stopped in there yesterday and we shared the 4 piece dinner. It was excellent as always, although the chicken pieces seemed a bit smaller. I do find that the size of the pieces can vary. They expect their second location in the east end will be open in March. Meanwhile, I asked them my chicken wing question and they do plan on expanding their menu at the Baseline location and will be including chicken wings. Looking forward to that.

Does anyone know if you can order just a pile of wings?

Well ...it was family shopping and lunch day with Mom and my Wife (the world's pickiest eater ..by far) First time there for my wife, second for my Mom. Wife..2 piece chicken, Mom (who loved the chicken first go around) had the Steak sandwich..me the usual 4 piece. Plus the Greek salad shared between Mom and Wife ..so comments ..Chicken was as usual good ..smaller then past..Mom love the Steak sandwich. So onto the worlds pickiest eater .."Chicken was amazing ..she even ate with her hands ..a first.. fries were very good ..but the Greek Salad was Amazing !!" Mom agreed ..and I tried it without cheese and it was fresh and the dressing was amazing. Talked to the owner after ..and all the sauces and dressings are all made in house (Garlic/Hot sauce/Greek dressing) NOTE: The East end location will be opened in Fed 2013 and he said the new web site will be up then as they are working out details on new delivers (lucky East end residence since I live in Stittsville) and other promos ..

As I have said before ..I am a be champion for non-frachise family run restos that deliver good food and great service and great value ..daughters are next I have been told by Grandma ..Good jobs Zaki's !!

I stopped in this week looking for the Philly cheese steak sandwich. Now I have never had one in Philly so I couldn't tell you how it compares but it is good. Tender steak with sautéed mushrooms and onions on a nice soft bun, this sandwich is full of flavour. I do find their food a little salty for me and the chicken strips especially but the garlic sauce is great and tempers the sodium somewhat. As or their French fries, they are using Frigochef (sp?) frozen.

Well I am happy to report from todays visit - they have removed the weaskest link with their meals - The Frozen Fries are gone asnd they now are using Fresh Cut fries with the combos - Only complaint now was there were too many on my plate (if thats a bad thing). very good and well spiced I tried the Steak sandwhich combo and it was probably the closes thing I have eaten when I worked in Philly - a real nice Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. Great food, great service and good folks !!

Well ..back again and the sizes of chicken were back to where they were when they opened up. Again, 2 thumbs up !! And they now have a second Broaster installed to make for quicker service. For you East end residents, I was talking to the owners and they are opening a second location at Donald and St Laurent (in the Winners Mall) and expect to open January 2013. Its bigger with 2 Broasters for Customers and additional Broaster in a second area for Catering. Good to see a family business work hard on some damn good chicken and expanding. Well done !!

Finally tried Zaki... takeout 4-piece dinner, late Aug 2012, Thursnite.

I'll get the minor negative out of the way first... fries were meh and dinner roll thing was bleh. Running the fries under the broiler at home gave them some much needed crisp but didn't add flavour. Wouldn't bother with the wasted carbs next time.

On to the spicy bird... it lived up to the hype. Four pieces of meaty, spicy goodness, moist, crispy skin, very tasty. These are not huge pieces, ie the four together amounted to about a half-chicken worth of meat at Swiss Chalet or St-Hubert, but price-wise and taste-wise better than those options. Not the bestest chicken ever in my life, but for a fast-food-style place in a strip mall, pretty awesome.

And for $11ish tax in, can drink included, the four piece dinner is solid value for dollar. Phoned the order in, it was waiting for me on arrival 15min later. Staff were pleasant place was clean, and bright. Will be back, especially because they're open late.

This chicken is amazing like everyone said: plump, juicy, crispy, incredibly non-greasy, and lightly seasoned. The seasoning is very mild, which allows you to enjoy the chicken flavour but it might be too mild for some. I tried one of them tossed in hot sauce, and it was nice to have variety but I prefer them plain.

Fries were seasoned and boring. I ate a few of them and left the rest. I took one bite of the unnecessary bun to see how it was -- not too bad. Go for the chicken. ;-)

I'd like to get a 4-piece meal with salad instead of fries/bun. That would be awesome.
