The owner is on hand all the time and is a young lady called Nadine.
The shop is tucked away in a strip mall beside a Shoppers Drug Mart on Greenbank Road, across from the Nepean Police station.
They are a peanut and nut free establishment. Also have wheat free cake and eggless and dairy free cakes as well.

sorry you had a couple of bad experiences, we buy a cake a week from them and they are all good. Cant comment on the special needs cakes as we only get the good stuff. We love the lemon poppy seed cake with the cream cheese frosting as well as the fruit pies. Best pie dough I have ever tasted, nice and flaky and does not stick to the roof our your mouth.

So, as I mentioned in the forums, I was about to start writing a review as a reply. Tsk tsk on me.

I have had the Cake Shop's cakes three times this past summer, all for birthdays (blame my partner's parents for getting it on in the fall! Anyway...)

Twice (June 6th and May 8th), we had dietary restrictions of no milk, butter, eggs, etc. on account of my vegan sister-in-law-to-be. I believe the word for this type of cake is Dreck, in German...in other words, dry, blech. The presentation was nice enough for a birthday cake, but I have tasted much tastier vegan/dietary restrictive treats. I kind of feel as though, if you can't do it right, why bother? It was dry as something very, very dry, Dusty almost. The birthday girl on the 6th needed two glasses of soy milk to get her piece down. I'm not sure in fact why we went back the second time.

The one time we did order a regular, normal cake, I was excited to try it. I figured, okay, so maybe vegan baking isn't their thing (heck, I know of three vegan bakers I trust in this city, two of whom are friends). The cake was good. It was chocolate. I don't think it was the Black Magic cake, because it wasn't really decadent and rich, just very fudgy. A bit too fudgy for my liking. Overall, it's going to take me a lot to go back again.

They're okay, if you're not going with the vegan stuff, and if you happen to live out that way. But then again, there's always a Loeb near by!

i know I sound crazy, but I love the Cake Shop. I am addicted. My family go crazy for the shortbread cookies dipped in dark and white chocolate as well as the strawberry flavoured chocolate and the cappuccino dipped cookies.

Saw the most amazing cakes there yesterday, Yes I bought another cake (Rolo cake)!!
They had a red cake with a gold dragon wrapped around it, with flames shooting out of its mouth.
Also saw a picture of a sneaker they made a few weeks ago. Very creative ladies!
