Open mid March to mid December The Downtowne Ice Cream & Candy Shoppe offers homemade ice cream and gelato, a delicious low-fat variety of ice cream. We also have soft-serve in nine different flavors. Frozen yogurt, shakes, old-fashioned floats, slushies and ice cold drinks make this a must stop. In addition, we offer a wide selection of chocolates and candies. Many new and old favorites to choose from including a line of sugar-free treats (from www.realmerrickville.ca)

A required stop on any summertime visit to Merrickville. Never a dissappointment this little shop on St. Lawrence Street offers a great assortment of treats. The staff are very friendly, and willing to make recommendations or give out tasting samples.

Stopped by here on a recent hot day for a cold treat. Homemade Ice Cream here is delicious and comes in a variety of flavours (not your standard fare). Can't decide? Tasting samples are given out on small spoons. You can have your pick scooped into a regular cone, waffle cone or cup.

Latest flavour tried:

HOKEY POKEY - Vanilla based ice cream with sponge toffee. Yummy!
