Ottawa Foodies

I stopped in to this shop for the first time on Saturday. We picked up several items, bread buns and more! Everything was fantastic! Staff were very friendly too! I had seen Bob the Baker featured on Regional Contact. (TV show)
This bakery was everything I had hoped for and More! Wow!

This was just a bad idea. I should've been cautioned off by the disturbingly large number of baked goods in the store overnight, but I just had to try, and...

What sort of wannabe bakery sells stuff so stale that it's mouldy (!) the next day?

A bag of ho-hum cookies had way too much allspice.

They also sell candies (some token Brit/semi-obscure stuff), ice cream, and a few food fripperies. Ex-BCers will note with interest a wee selection of Murchie's teas...

But that's about it. There was a place where sandwiches were supposed to be; there wasn't a single sandwich, early/mid-afternoon. (Huh?)

Anyway -- go elsewhere in Mississippi Mills for your baked goods; this is more twee tourist trap than bakery. The Pakenham General Store is still the best I've found for Valley bakery goodness.
