Looking at other people's profile pages here, I see that some commentary on one's involvements with food is the standard.

I love food. I also like booze, but I'm trying to drink a fair bit less these days. I am not much of a dessert fan, though. And I've never tasted meat, seafood, or poultry. (But have no problem with anybody who likes it, and I loathe having to add that disclaimer.) That can limit the range of my foodieness a bit, but it does allow for some creative cooking.

I'm thinking of writing a cookbook. Just thinking about it is fun; my kitchen is jam-packed.

And, I am not actually a cat in real life. (Another cat picture: flickr.com) I'll try to add a picture of myself at some point.

I'm living right downtown at the moment, which makes for great access to food, but a lot of not-so-great other things. I'm in the middle of buying a house, and crossing my fingers about food in the Ottawa Valley.

I grew up in Ottawa. My earliest restaurant memories are of the 'Pepperswill' cafeteria at Carleton University. I've also lived in Victoria, Washington, DC, and Los Angeles; I'm not entirely convinced that Ottawa restaurants are inferior to any of those places. More choice in LA, certainly, but sometimes, more choice means more junk.

I do miss cheap and ubiquitious SoCal-style Mexican, though. And Trader Joe's. Mmm...Trader Joe's. (www.traderjoes.com/)
