Chocolate batons for croissants [Cooking]
2012 Jul 25
I am looking for chocolate batons for making croissants. I have never made them before and I have no idea where I can buy the chocolate. Can anyone recommend a place that carries them? Thanks!

We order ours from Maison Gourmet in Montreal. I can't remember their phone number offhand but the fax number is 1-450-420-9951. Maybe they can tell you. I don't know of anyplace that sells them retail.

Is there any chance that your workplace would sell me some? I checked with the place in Montreal but as a home baker, there is no way I could use them in the quantities they sell.

You could easily make your own - go to Walmart and pick up some of those rubber ice cube trays that make long drink stirrers from ice, then melt your chocolate and refrigerate it in the moulds to make chocolate batons.
