Strongly seconded. :)
As long as we're griping... ever think about moving the "Ignore this topic" button? Half the time I go to submit a post I click that button instead of "Post reply".
Thanks!

Preview doesn't offer anything more than "Post" followed by an optional "Delete" or "Edit" operation, right? Or am I missing something? Anyway, I'll think about it again!
As for the "Ignore this topic" button, it used to be on the left, directly under the "Post reply" button. I hit it accidentally myself a few times and moved it to the center. Now it isn't a problem for me anymore. That said, it's clearly still causing problems. Any suggestions for where it should move to? I don't really want it at the top of the page, since it shouldn't be the first thing you see.

I know we've had part of this discussion before... I use a word processing program if I am going to be posting a longer message, then I can spell check etc before I actually paste it into the message box. For shorter posts I utilize the EDIT button and make changes as needed. If I come back at a later date and see that I should have added another remark, then I add an EDIT notation to the end of my post. It is my understanding that as long as you are the last in any thread you have the option to edit. So far it works for me.
I too have accidently hit the IGNORE THIS TOPIC button on occasion. But Fresh Foodie I am at a loss as to where to move it to.
I have discovered that sometimes when I think I've lost a post, that if I go back into the topic, and hit the POST A FOLLOW-UP MESSAGE, my post will reappear, then all I have to do is hit the POST REPLY button again, and all is well with the world.

"Preview doesn't offer anything more than "Post" followed by an optional "Delete" or "Edit" operation, right?"
It allows me to look at the post as it will appear without anyone seeing it first. That way I can make sure it's exactly to my liking before it gets sent out to the world. As it is I inevitably do the post, edit, post, edit, post, edit dance.
Sure I can preview it in the edit box but there's something about seeing it in the read-only preview mode that makes me really concentrate on what I've written.
I don't have a better suggestion for the placement of the Ignore button. Maybe if you replace the button with a link it would be distinct enough to prevent the problem.

The IGNORE THIS TOPIC button could be moved altogether to the main forums page, and perhaps changed to an icon that is included on each line listing of topic. Then you can hit 'IGNORE' on many topics without having to actually click on the topic in the first place. Further, you could have a toggle control on the same page that lets you see 'All Forums' or 'Only Ones Not Ignored'.
.
Or, you could ditch 'Ignore' altogether, and change the logic to instead have 'Favourite' forums. Then the main view of forums would show a) 'Favourites', and b) also show newly created forums that you have the chance to 'Favourite' or 'Ignore' My two cents...

ditto what Ollie said on the preview.
Preview and Edit are complementary, but distinct, features imo. my mindset is to do as little post-submission word-smithing as possible, a perspective shaped in other, chattier fora where users might post replies more quickly (than often the case here). In those cases, editing can cause confusion ... its probably different here, but i simply raise the possibility.
As F&T does, i could revert to a different editor/application, but i'm lazy and the dull compulsions of my "other" job mitigate against spending too much time ... and Preview seems like it would serve that function perfectly (since you would see your text in context, not in a different app).
As well, from a systems perspective, wouldn't it be more efficient -- in reducing the number of trips to the database, etc.?
Again, i'm not griping. :) if tedious to implement, or goes against the grain of your judgment, kindly ignore.
As for the "Ignore this topic" button, i barely noticed it before but now i can barely uh ... ignore it. But i have no practical suggestions.

About the ignore topic option, i might suggest moving it to the top, next to or just below the thread title. Its only a slight inconvenience to scroll back to the top.
btw, just noticed the hidden divs used to "streamline your experience": is this a new or beta feature? In either case, its very helpful (and might be put to good effect elsewhere on the site). Kudos.

I introduced the "posts hidden to streamline" feature a couple of months ago. But it used to come into play only when reading new posts. Now it should appear more often, like when you preview or post. It only happens if the discussion is long though...
