Go to sultin market on bank and huntclub.(I belive theres a product depot in the same plaza) They have about 6 different brands of corn tortilla. Not to mention the best fresh dates around. Dont quote my spelling on sultin.

There is an Ottawa Foodie food entry for tortillas here ---> food 414 <---
My fave place to get them is at La Cabana. ---> vendor 468 <---
La Cabana is near Carling on Merivale. Hope that is west end enough.
They have them cheap and you can not only get packaged (machine made)ones, you can also get tortilla gordo (homemade).

If you're really ambitious, you can get a tortilla press and some masa harina and make your own. It's not too hard, and actually kinda fun. It just takes a bit of practice to get the right consistency in the dough.

Cap'n is right to say that La Cabana is probably your best bet. Sometimes you can find corn tortillas at the Loblaws/Superstore at College Square. Or, as Tre suggests, make your own - it's super easy. All necessary tools & ingredients can be found at La Cabana (actually, La Cabana is the restaurant and the store is called La Tiendita, which is attached). They carry a variety of brands of masa flour - experiment and find the one you think tastes best.

Awesome! I knew I was asking in the right space. Thanks for the tips. I'll check out La Tiendita... and maybe even get ambitious enough to pick up some equipment.

Hey hh-hippo:
If you do go to La Tiendita why not pick up some tamales or pupusas (food 378) to go, from La Cabana ? I'm SURE you will not be dissapointed.
Jun 24
Hoho, those pupusas are making me hungry! You MUST buy some pupusas if you go anywhere NEAR La Cabana.

You could try Mercado Latino on Montreal Rd... tiny store but interesting stuff
and I am pretty sure I saw them at St Laurent Fruit and Veg.

Wow! Thanks for the La Cabana tip. I'll be posting a comment under their listing, but it was soooo good. Mmmmm. My first pupusas, not my last. I'm sad that I can't go back tonight :)
